Free rat treatment for your block
Lamont St, Morton St, Sherman Ave, Georgia Ave
Before you sign up
- Who's asking? Philippa Hawker, your ANC Commissioner. ANC Commissioners are neighbors elected to represent about 2,000 residents each, and they receive no salary.
- What is this? A free request asking DC Health to treat your block for rats.
- What is the sign-up page? A free tool built by DC residents. It is not a DC government website, but it fills in DC Health's own treatment request.
- Who sees my details? Only the petition's organizer, your commissioner, and DC Health. Nothing is sold, and there are no ads.
- Is this really from my commissioner? Yes. Write to the official ANC address, 1E03@anc.dc.gov (a dc.gov address), to check.
It takes about a minute. The next page may take a few seconds to load.
What to know
- It's free. DC Health does not charge for rat treatment.
- Only homes that sign up get treated. A neighbor's sign-up does not cover your home.
- What signing means: you give DC Health permission to inspect the outside of your home and treat rat burrows there. DC Health covers the burrows after treating them, to keep children and pets away from the treatment. On treatment day, keep pets inside and leave your gate unlocked.
- Rent or own? Either way, you can sign for your own home. In an apartment, add your unit number. DC Health decides how it treats larger buildings.
- Your privacy: the public map shows a dot on homes that sign up, never names. Your commissioner uses your details only for this petition.
- Sign-ups close October 30, 2026.
